Saturday Drive in the new car
Mike and I celebrated his birthday today by going for a drive in our new car. We first went out Sawmill Creek Road, where I spotted some eagles in trees, and then we went to the Coast Guard base and strolled out to John Brown’s Beach.
Silver Bay was especially beautiful today with snow flurries drifting down around us. The sun was trying to peak out behind the mountains, creating a glowing atmosphere.

These two were very young bald eagles. They were quite cooperative.
At John Brown’s Beach, we watched a couple of boats go by. They were really rolling in the large swells. It wasn’t stormy today but the ocean hasn’t settled down yet from the last storm. The F/V Heron looked a little light in the stern; I’m glad I wasn’t on board.
This is at the end of the runway (you can see it sticking out on the left).
This is looking towards Halibut Point Road.
I’m glad I wasn’t on this one, too. It was surfing down the waves.
So that’s it for now. It’s been fun getting out between raindrops and capturing these images!
