Canada - British Columbia - Fraser Valley
We left Oregon yesterday, spent the night in Tacoma, Washington, and tonight we are in Hope, BC.
This is the rig we're traveling in, RV and 450 King Ranch Ford truck.
On our way out of Oregon we stopped at a weigh station. Notice it's over 16,000 pounds! That's just the RV.
Mt. Baker, outside of Seattle, wizzed by.
So did Seattle.
Then it was time to cross the Canadian/US border. The customs officer never asked for our ID or anything. It took less than 30 seconds to pass through. And, the exchange rate was in our favor! Karen and I picked up bear bells for our packs in honor of the walks we know we'll take.
We passed a number of fields with people working in the hot sun. We seemed to be passing through British Columbia's bread basket, or maybe I should say vegetable and fruit bins.
This is typical of the Valley we were driving through. I don't know the name of the mountain.
When we exited the highway to buy fresh strawberries and raspberries we got behind this rig. Anyone know what it does?
We arrived at Hope, set up camp and Bill, worn out from a hard day of keeping us in line, took a nap.
Tomorrow we hope to be in the Revelstoke area. Until then...
