Canadian RV Trip: The Canadian Cascades and Okanagan Regions
Our first night in Canada was spent at a lovely campground in Hope, BC, the site of the filming of the first Silvester Stalone movie, Rambo.

As you can see, there were some cows next to the campground.

On this day we continued our drive north into the mountains, along the Canadian Cascades. Somewhere along the Thompson River we drove onto the east side of the Cascades and the scenery changed to an arid one. The temperature also soared to 102 F. It was HOT! There was lots of sage brush and sparse trees, many white pines on the hillsides dead from something.

A church in a very small village along the highway. It felt very western.

This was taken at Canadian Northern Pacific's site of the last spike, completed in 1915.
We skirted along the edge of the Okanagan Region, which has vineyards. Actually, we discovered in an excellent restaurant in Winnipeg that Canada has a vast collection of wines from its vineyards from all across the country.
The contrast between the arid countryside and irrigated fields was striking.
This was taken at the end of the arid countryside. After Kamloops Lake the scenery changed back to more trees and lakes.
