The Launching of Slack Tide

Published by at 4:09 pm under Alaska,Boats,Harbors,Sitka

Yesterday, our friends, Dave Zeiger and Anke Wagner, whom we fondly used to call the Zoonies (named after their first homemade boat/home, Zoon) launched a new home called Slack Tide. You can see other boats of theirs at http://www.triloboats.com/aboutus.html.

Dave and Anke stand beside their newly completed boat, and home, Slack Tide, waiting to have it hauled by Arrowhead Transfer from a Halibut Point Road yard to the Sealing Cove ramp. The boat was designed by Zeiger, who has designed and built many similar boats. Slack Tide will have a junk rig sail with alternative propulsion provided by a pedalled outboard motor on the stern.
