Mim’s Missives

After the wonderful ride down Kicking Horse River, I searched my mind for other adventures I’ve always wanted to experience. I had seen ads for paragliding and I decided that would be the one. This is the peak we flew from. The top of Mount 7 is to the right.

Notes from my journal for July 12, 2007:

“Karen and I did it! She tripped and they had to start over so we didn’t get to fly together. But it was awesome! I wasn’t afraid and took lots of photos. I could easily do it again. Karen, however, wouldn’t. She didn’t like the turns.”

Karen prefers parasailing, which is paragliding behind a speeding boat. Flying like this reminds me of all the float plane rides I’ve been on, even those tight turns. It all felt very familiar, you’re just a little more exposed!
