Crossing America 2010 - Mammoth Hot Springs-Gardner River, Yellowstone N. P.
We drove up to Mammoth Hot Springs where Bill dropped us off for the afternoon. We got a late start - crack of noon - and with the distraction of the elks, didn’t start our planned hike along the Gardiner River until around 3pm (with a 5pm pickup). It was about 80 degrees. We had some cloud cover for part of the walk, which was nice. Mostly it was very sunny and hot.
