Fall 2008 - Maine
I got to travel back to Maine again this year. This time I got to see the awesome fall colors. But first, I was blessed with a reunion with a cousin I hadn’t seen in many, many years: Edward Sampson III in Seattle, WA.
After an all too brief visit with an excellent dinner at a Thai restaurant (can’t remember the name) I boarded an overnight flight to Boston and then bused to Maine. Fall colors came early this year (lucky me!).
One evening in Maine, after a hurricane had just barely missed Mt. Desert Island the night before, we all decided to go on a picnic. Those crazy Sawyers… So we did the impossible and got all three generations together and drove out to Seawall to one of our favorite spots. On the way, we saw this sign which required a photo op session…
The view was beautiful in a stormy way.
Two other favorite spots were visited on this trip. Ocean Drive, a part of Acadia National Park, during the storm…
…and Bass Harbor Marsh…
While in Southwest Harbor, we got to go for a sail on brother Lunn’s recently renovated and launched sailboat. Here are four of the five siblings, l to r: Mim, Anna, Lunn, Karen
